Built by a clinician who has been the patient.
Vertera was founded by Joel Proskewitz, a spinal kineticist with thirty years in spine rehabilitation, after his own spine surgery showed him how much of recovery happens between appointments.
"Spine surgery patients face frustration, pain, confusion and uncertainty. The journey is overwhelming, from deciding whether surgery is right for you, to navigating recovery, to finding the right support. No one should have to face this alone."
I understand these challenges personally, as a spine surgery patient myself, and professionally, because I rehabilitate spine surgery patients and help them get better.
That led me to create Vertera: a platform that guides patients through their surgery journey, one day at a time, and gives their care team a live view of how recovery is going. Our purpose is that no spine surgery patient navigates their journey alone, and every patient achieves their best possible outcome.
